Karan Randhava, MD

Psychiatrist, Independent Contractor

Karan has dedicated his career to understanding how psychotherapy and sometimes medication can have positive impacts on recovery. He sees children, teens, and adults for all mental health issues. He is particularly skilled at interpersonal conflicts. He aims to build trust with clients to collaboratively choose the right treatment option while dedicating time to understand problems from their root with an empathic approach.

Karan received his bachelor’s degree in both psychology and chemical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended medical school at the University of Illinois, then did a year of residency in family medicine before switching to psychiatry at OHSU. He completed his fellowship training for child and adolescent psychiatry in 2008. He has worked in a variety of settings over the past 8 years, including the inpatient psychiatric unit at Randall Children’s Hospital, residential and sub-acute treatment at Youth Villages, intensive community treatment services and day treatment at Lifeworks NW, and outpatient services through Cascadia, Santa Barbara community mental health, and private practice.

In his spare time, Karan loves spending time with his wife and baby girl as well as their two dogs, Coco and Maisie. He is an avid kite surfer and loves to mountain bike. He is a dedicated animal lover and hopes to someday have a farm for rescues.
